Has anyone ever read the book animal farm?

okay, so i have to do a propaganda on the book, or well i have to find some kind of part in the story that i can make a propaganda out of, SO here was my idea, in one of the parts Old major mentions that its like a disgrace to wear clothing because animals were made out of it, something like that, and i was going to draw a picture of mr. j on one side doing a bunch of farm work and on the other side, have the animals having fun, and my slogan was going to be %26quot;Life is better when naked%26quot; LOL i don%26#039;t i just thought of that but yeah is it good? :]

or does anyone have any other ideas from the book that would be a good one? thanks :]
Has anyone ever read the book animal farm?
Yeah, that%26#039;s kinda cute.

One thing you could do though, is look up some propaganda on the Russian Revolution since the book was made to reflect that. You can probably make some parallels. But that%26#039;s just if you decide not to do yours.
Has anyone ever read the book animal farm?
I%26#039;ve read a different animal farm that was amazing when i was a kid and the farm used to go How goooes the work. not much help to you i know im sorry but very good book all the same.

Hope you get it sorted
Reply:It%26#039;s good, but you could also do some of Squealer%26#039;s propaganda.

Reply:I adore graphic novels--and Invincible, Runaways, and Marvel 1602 are all amazing.

Invincible and Runaways are non-traditional superhero stories. Both involve children of super people--the first is a superhero, the other is a little more twisted.

1602 is interesting b/c it%26#039;s all the traditional Marvel characters (X-men, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, etc.) exist in 17th century England and North America. The artwork is wonderful and the writing (by Neil Gaiman) is fabulous. I highly recommend this one. Happy reading!

Realistic Fiction:

鈾erks of Being a Wallflower.

鈾lowers to Algernon (some people might think Flowers To Algernon is a bit mature for a 12-year-old because of some sexual material, but I think you can handle it).

鈾y Own Worst Enemy (This may be a little on the girly side for you, but I%26#039;m not very girly and I liked it)

Fantasy:

鈾燘artimaeus Trilogy. Great series, recommended to anyone but especially if you like fantasy. When I was in 6th grade, I saw a lot of guys (and girls, including me) reading it, and I assume that it%26#039;ll be alright for a 7th grader, too. It%26#039;s not childish.

鈾燛ragon. Haven%26#039;t read it, but a lot of people love it.

鈾燚iadem series. This one%26#039;s a little mediocre, but it%26#039;s okay, and entertaining.

Comedy:

鈽籋itchhiker%26#039;s Guide to the Galaxy. I read this one and loved it. It was so funny. It does require a lot of focus, though. It%26#039;s science fiction, but the main intention is humour.

鈽籘he Kitchen Man. It involves a man who is very relate-able and awkward. It%26#039;s fairly funny, but it%26#039;s also somewhat serious. The main character is a middle-aged man, but I%26#039;m a teenager and I liked it.

She stays with Edward. Jake runs off because of the pain. Did you read the epilogue?
Reply:she stayed with edward.

ya,it was a lil confusing,i had to read it twice. the second time,i realized the ending was written from jacobs point of view. lol=]

Can%26#039;t wait till breaking dawn! And the twilight movie!

tehe =]
Reply:No, Bella is still very much with Edward. She said that she loves them both, but she loves Edward more. In the next book Breaking Dawn she is planning to get married to Edward, but she still cares about Jacob. In August we%26#039;ll find out if she ends up with Jake or Edward, but currently she%26#039;s with Edward.
Reply:She made the right choice and stayed with Edward, not the wolf boy.

Any good book suggestions for summer reading?

I am a junior-going be a senior in high school. I am looking for a good book to read over the summer (for summer reading). Please dont mention any diffuclt book-i mean any that are hard to read! Any suggestions??? Thanks!!!
Any good book suggestions for summer reading?
Here are some of my favorite teen and some adult-ish novels:

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It%26#039;s about a girl named Bella who moves to Forks, Washington and runs into a group of vampires. VERY VERY good! I REALLY think you should give it a chance because I%26#039;m not into vampire stuff, but it was AMAZING!

http://stepheniemeyer.com/twilight.html

Pants On Fire by Meg Cabot. It%26#039;s about a girl who basically has everything (popular best friend, good grades... and TWO boyfriends.) It%26#039;s really funny because then her friend from eighth grade come back to town (everyone hates him) and she falls head over heals for him too.

http://www.megcabot.com/

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares. It%26#039;s about four girls who where born as friends. They go through ups and downs together.

The Last Summer (Of You and Me) by Ann Brashares was amazing. It may be more of an adult book, but it was fairly good.

All-American Girl and All-American Girl Ready Or Not by Meg Cabot. It%26#039;s about an outcast girl who happens to save the presidents life. Suddenly everyone at school wants to be her friend, but she doesn%26#039;t really care... What she does care about is the presidents son...

Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot. It%26#039;s about a girl who goes over seas with her boyfriend after (almost!) finishing college. After a bad break up with him, she goes with her friend and runs into someone.... It%26#039;s a very good adult book!

How To Be Popular by Meg Cabot. It%26#039;s about a girl who comes across an old book in her grandma%26#039;a attic called how to be popular. So, she follows the rules of the book hoping to become popular.

Jinx by Meg Cabot. If you liked Twilight, then you%26#039;ll like this book. It%26#039;s about a girl who has bad luck all the time so she moves in with her aunt and uncle. He sister is into witchcraft and I don%26#039;t want to spoil the rest, but it fairly good.

Teen Idol by Meg Cabot. This is about a girl who has an advice column in her school newspaper. So, when a famous actor comes to her school and she%26#039;s the only one who knows about it, chaos occurs!

Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen is also pretty good. It%26#039;s about two girls that are best friends who are having a few issues in the love department.

http://www.sarahdessen.com/?q=books

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen is one of my favorites! It%26#039;s about a girl who had something terrible happen to her and she%26#039;s learning how to cope with it and befriends an outcast boy.

The Mediator series by Meg Cabot. I%26#039;ve only read the first two, but they are VERY good. It%26#039;s about a girl named Suze who moves to California from New York because her mother just remarried. Oh, and Suze can see ghosts...

13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. It%26#039;s about a guy named Clay who gets these tapes in the mail about why a girl named Hannah killed herself. It%26#039;s very good and a great page-turner!

http://www.thirteenreasonswhy.com/

She Went All The Way by Meg Cabot. This is a book for more mature people, but it%26#039;s very good. It%26#039;s about two people who get stranded in the wilderness.

Forever... by Judy Bloom is also pretty good. It%26#039;s about a girl getting a boyfriend and going through sensual things. It%26#039;s a little mature.

Nick and Norah%26#039;s Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan is okay. My friends LOVED it! I don%26#039;t wanna tell you what it%26#039;s about because it%26#039;ll just give it all away.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer. It%26#039;s about how these things called souls invade Earth, as well as humans. It%26#039;s based on a soul named Wanda who is placed into Melanie, who refuses to fade away like she%26#039;s suppose too. It%26#039;s very interesting and I totally recommend it!

http://stepheniemeyer.com/thehost.html

Good luck with finding a book! I hope these help!
Any good book suggestions for summer reading?
few years younger then you,

but if your thinking of reading over the summer, i%26#039;ll either recomend the historian by elizabeth kostova, or the pillars of the earth by ken follett.

just finished reading the book by ken follett, i had to skip a few pages for.. stuff, but if you don%26#039;t mind that, then that book will last a few weeks, otherwise the historians amazing too. lost the book before i could finish it, but it was pretty good while it lasted.
Reply:Well, it really depends on your interests. That is a major factor in finding a book that%26#039;s good for you. If you like adventurous and fast paced try Harry Potter, but if that%26#039;s getting old, try the Lightning Thief (the gods still exist and Percy Jackson is a forbidden son of Poseidon, he must go on a quest to prevent world disaster), Artemis Fowl (an 11 year old evil genius kidnaps a fairy tries to exploit the whole race), or The Sisters Grimm (fairy tale characters still exist and are confined to Ferryport Landing, New York; the Sisters Grimm are the ancestors of the the famous brothers and have to try to keep the peace in the small town). If you like a book with an interesting plot try Maneater (when a gold digger finally decides to get married, she accidentally ends up with a poor man). Montmorency (after spending time in prison a thief disguises himself as a gentlemen, while stealing from the rich) is also very good.
Reply:- Night by Elie Weisel - A true account of life in a nazi concentration camp

- The Lovely Bones - Told from the point of view of a 14 year old girl who was raped and killed and is in heaven

- The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini - About trust, friendship and redemption during the Taliban era in Afghanistan

- A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini - Told from the point of view of a woman in the middle east who basically has no human rights and is treated like property

- Angela%26#039;s Ashes by Frank McCourt - The childhood of a young boy living in poverty with an alcoholic father

- If Only They Could Talk by James Herriot - Funny accounts of the escapades of a young vet

-The Life of Pi by Yann Martel - Told from the point of view of a teenaged boy who is stuck in a liferaft with a Bengal Tiger for almost a year when his ship sinks in the pacific ocean.

-Atonement by Ian McEwan - After a young girl sees her sister harmlessly flirting with the gardener and her imagination causes her to accuse him of a terrible crime. Set around WW2

- The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown - An adventure thriller that you can%26#039;t put down

- The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night Time by Mark Haddon - told from the point of view of an autistic boy who is slowly learning about the realities of the real world

-Flowers For Algernon - About a young mentally challenged man who undergoes a surgery to make him smarter and the way his view of society in general changes.

-Where The Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls - About a boy and his two dogs and growing up in general

I really love all of these, some of them are really deep and i read them all as a junior/senior so they should be right up your alley. They are all very well written with truths that rise to the surface in the end. I hope you enjoy!

Ashton is just a typical small town. But when a skeptical reporter and a prayful pastor begin to compare notes, they suddenly find themselves fighting a hideous New Age plot to subjugate the townspeople, and eventually the entire human race. This Present Darkness rivals The Screwtape Letters with its keen insight into spiritual warfare and the necessity of prayer. It is fast-moving, riveting reading, ranking with the best thrillers on the bookshelf. Readers have picked up more than 2.5 million copies since its publication in 1986, and, with its companion volume Piercing the Darkness, it has sparked great interest in spiritual warfare over the years.

This is a GREAT book, even if you aren%26#039;t spiritual or anything...very interesting and exciting!

Now the teenage Anna rebels against the role that has been forced upon her though it could mean the death of her sister.

Message in a Bottle - Theresa Osborne is divorced and cynical about love and life. This changes when she finds a bottle on the beach which contains a love letter. This is a beautiful story for those who choose to believe in the miracle of finding that special someone.

A Walk to Remember, The Rescue, A Bend in the Road, Nights in Rodanthe, The Guardian, The Wedding, True Believer, A First Sight, Dear John, and The Choice.

Sarah Dessen:

Lock and Key - Ruby has been living alone in the farmhouse since her mother abandoned her, but when this is discovered she is sent to live with her sister Cora who she has not seen in about 10 years. Cora%26#039;s husband Jamie is an extremely successful founder of a popular networking site on the Web. A nice large house, private school, new clothes, and a promise for the future are quite an adjustment to make.

Just Listen - Annabel Greene is the youngest of three very different sisters. She has had a very bad summer and must now return to school. She has never been so lonely or so sad, yet she must face each day. As she has her own problems to confront, her entire family is dealing with issues that plague her sister, Whitney. By circumstance, Annabel and Owen, whose life revolves around music, become friends. It is Owen who will help Annabel to meet certain challenges.

The Truth About Forever - Macy%26#039;s father has recently died and she is feeling guilty. Her mother isn%26#039;t coping with his death well at all. Macy%26#039;s boyfriend, Jason, represents security, but frankly he is a clueless jerk. It might have been a very long summer, but then by chance Macy meets an interesting group of people. I loved everyone in the Wish Catering crew, but most especially Wes. No matter the difficulties life has thrown each member of Wish they persevere because they must.

Dreamland - Caitlin is the younger and she feels second-rate sister to Cass who is perfect in every way. Now Caitlin is 16 and rather than starting at Yale, Cass has run off with a guy. This year for Caitlin is about school, cheerleading, parties, her boyfriend, and so much much more. Unfortunately, this novel has an important message every young lady needs to hear.

Keeping the Moon - Colie and her mother used to be fat. They moved frequently and were homeless for a time. Then Colie%26#039;s mother went on a %26quot;let%26#039;s get healthy%26quot; kick and they both lost weight. Now mom has a good job and they live in a nice house. Unfortunately, because of a really mean girl at school, Colie has acquired a reputation she did not deserve. Mom is going to Europe to work for the summer and Colie is going to spend the summer with her eccentric aunt.

That Summer - Summers hold special memories for many of us: vacations, beaches, picnics, summer jobs, summer loves, maybe even a wedding or two. Haven, younger sister to Ashley, is fondly remembering a summer five years ago because in this current summer her world is falling apart. Her father had an affair, her parents divorced, and now he is getting married to the co-worker with whom he had the affair. Ashley is also getting married this summer and Haven doesn%26#039;t understand why Ashley would choose this man.

Someone Like You - Halley and Scarlet, both 16 and juniors in high school, have been best friends forever. Scarlet was always the strong one, but now she needs Halley to be there for her. As they begin the new school year, Scarlet is pregnant and her boyfriend has been killed in a motorcycle accident. Meanwhile Halley has problems of her own. Halley and her mother, a psychologist, have gotten along well in the past but that has changed. Halley%26#039;s mother used to write books about their relationship, but now they just argue.

This Lullaby - Remy, Jess, Chloe, and Lissa are friends (sort of) and now it is the summer between high school and college. This is a time of transition for each of them, but the story concentrates on Remy who because her mother has had a series of husbands and Remy never even met her father, she is very cynical about love.

Ann Brashares:

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - A wonderful story about Tibby, Carmen, Lena, and Bridget, four very different friends who are spending their first summer apart from one another. Each of the girls faces her own crisis and, in the end, they are there for each other. It%26#039;s a great story of friendship.

Sequels: The Second Summer of the Sisterhood; Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood; and Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood.

Okay to make short story short I lost my book (eclipse) and I really really want to know the ending of the book and it is bugging the crap out of me. Is Bella with Edward or Jacob? And is she with the person b/c she loves him or because just because? Help.........
Eclipse Novel Ending?
Ok so bella stays with edward and then the books turns into jacobs point of view

in the next book i think bella and edward are gettin married =D

i wish i could tell u more but i borrowed teh book froma friend

hope that helped at lest a bit

%26lt;3
Eclipse Novel Ending?
It%26#039;s been a while but,

She%26#039;s with Edward because she loves him and can%26#039;t live without him.

And Jacob went crazy and ran awayy.
Reply:ok, she ended up staying with Edward because as you know she really really loves him, and she loves jacob too but not to the extent of edwars love so she and edward are together and are going to get married and she invited Jacob to the wedding but as you know him being a werewolf i doubt he%26#039;s gonna go cuz he doesnt like jacob
Reply:I feel so bad for you...I can%26#039;t believe you LOST IT!!!!I wouldn%26#039;t want to spoil it for you, but she ends up with Edward, and she is getting married to him and she discovers she%26#039;s in love with Jacob, but she doesn%26#039;t love him as much as she does Edward. There%26#039;s a lot that goes on at the end, so I suggest that you check the eclipse book out and read the ending agian.

EDIT: Oh I forgot she invited Jacob! Jacob got mad, and we%26#039;re not sure if he%26#039;s coming to the wedding or not! I hope he does though! But I hopehe doesn%26#039;t ruin it either. If he truly loves Bella he wouldn%26#039;t!
Reply:Bella stays with Edward, and Bella says yes to his proposal. And, as for Jacob, in the ending of the book, Jacob receives a wedding invitation, and he runs away into the woods because he is that mad.
Reply:FIND THE BOOK!!!!! It%26#039;s not the same with out the book. She ends up with Edward. And it%26#039;s pretty obvious why she%26#039;s with him.
Reply:Okay, bella says goodbye to jacob and Edward asks her to marry him. Then Edward secretly send jacob a letter thanking him for everything he has ever done for Bella, and tells him that if he really wanted to he could come to the wedding, but rather then being happy for them, Jacob gets angry and runs away from home. I felt bad for him...poor Jacob : (
Reply:I don%26#039;t know what part you left off at but....edward defeats victoria and her army of new born vampires. Jake tricks bella into realizing that she loves him to. So now bella is forced to choose between edward... who she loves and jacob.... who she loves.

She decides that edward is the one that she can%26#039;t live without. As one of the compromises that edward and bella make, bella has to marry him and he will turn her into a vampire. THey were going to go to vegas to get maryy and just get it over with but alice was heart broken that she didn%26#039;t get to go. After some pleading with bella to let her do her wedding and she gave in. The deadline is set for August,13; one month before bella%26#039;s 19%26#039;th birthday. she decides that it is time to tell charlie about getting married and says to edward %26quot;it%26#039;s a good thing your bullet proof,%26quot; but she doesn%26#039;t actually tell charlie yet.

the epilogue is in jacob%26#039;s point of veiw. He recievs the wedding invitation and there is a note in there that said comething like %26quot;bella did not want to send this because she didn%26#039;t think that you should have to choose and she didn%26#039;t want to hurt you. But i knew that if it was me, i would have wanted a choice. -Edward%26quot;

Upset, jacob runs away into the forrest %26quot;leaving jacob Black behind%26quot;

that was just a short summary of the last part of the book.... if you have any questions, contact me!!!
Reply:shes with edward because although she knows she loves jacob aswell she cant live with out edward.

after the fight jacob runs away in his wolf form to escape human emotions. bella is getting married. just before jacboc runs away he gets a letter from edward inviting him to the wedding(against bellas will) thanking jacob for helping bella and saying tha if the roles were reversd edward would have wanted the option to go 2 the wedding.

Where can I find the first chapter to Breaking Dawn? If you have it could you send it? basarley@bellsouth.net?

Buy or get Eclipse special edition from your library. You could also try Stephanie Meyers website or just search the web.

TEAM EDWARD!!!!
Reply:If you read Seth%26#039;s blog on stephaniemeyer.com it specifically says that is hasn%26#039;t been released yet. srry, wish I could help.

ps: Seth is Stephanie%26#039;s brother

these are his exact words:

One last reminder about the first chapter of Breaking Dawn: we do not have permission to post it on our site. It is copyrighted material and it would be illegal to put it on our site. We are hopeful that the publishing company will give us permission to post it about a week before the release of Breaking Dawn in August.

--Seth

; )
Reply:IT%26#039;S ILLEGAL TO DO THAT!!! You can go here to read the first few pages:

http://stepheniemeyer.com/index.html (Scroll down until you see May 30th, then click on Entertainment Weekly Link)

After that it%26#039;s illegal (unless you buy the Eclipse Special Edition) because it%26#039;s copyrighted material, just as Stephenie Meyer has said:

As some of you may have noticed, many people who have typed out or scanned either the entire books, portions of the books or first chapter of Breaking Dawn have received (or should be receiving) a message from their hosting companies that notices were sent from my publisher to take the content down. I know people are eager to share their excitement about my books, which I love, but you may not be aware that making portions of the book available for download is violating my copyright (unless you have written permission from me or my publisher). Quoting a sentence or two is fine, but anything beyond that is in violation of copyright. Basically, copyright gives an author control over where, when and how her work is made available to the public. This exists to protect the author and her work a lot of effort has been put into creating these books for you to enjoy -- so I hope people cooperate in respecting the copyright for all my novels.

GO TEAM EDWARD, (for the record, Jacob needs to get over Bella.)
Reply:Team Edward.

2 good 2 b true.

At the movies. Where else?
Reply:Edward. According to Stephenie Meyer, (this is an eclipse spoiler), Jacob never imprinted on Bella, which means that Jacob is not Bella%26#039;s soul mate. And besides, Edward is amazing. He is an attractive, noble, bloodthirsty vampire who wants to basically eat the girl he is in love with. He accepts that Bella loves Jacob as well, though Jacob can%26#039;t handle Bella loves Edward more. My bet is with Edward. What not to love?
Reply:EDWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He%26#039;s AMAZING!!!!!!!

I do think Jake deserves a happy ending though.

But Bella and Edward will end up together. Jake just needs a nice girl to imprint on.
Reply:Im torn between them just as bella is. Thats how good a writr stephenie meyer is. She can make u feel the exzact same way as the main charaacter feels.(bella)

Reply:TEAM EDWARD!!!!!!!!!!!ALL THE WAY!!!!!
Reply:Team Jacob!!,

though i do love edward.
Reply:Team Jacob.

I love the character of Edward. I like his old-fashioned morals and values, I love his self-control and willingness to protect Bella. I even like the fact that he believes in the idea of souls and is unwilling to make Bella what he is. Though Edward does have a temper (he did throw Jacob around in the tent and he did smash up a TV when the Cullens voted whether to make Bella a vampire or not), he has learned to control it. I%26#039;ll admit I am still trying to figure out why Edward loves Bella. I know it%26#039;s not love at first sight.

However, it is all about Jacob Black for me. Jacob was able to take care of Bella when she was devastated by Edward leaving her. Jacob and Bella were able to develop a friendship despite Bella%26#039;s broken heart. I think Jacob truly loved Bella because he protected her and %26quot;told%26quot; her about his true identity, despite the Quileute treaty. A lot of people hate on Jacob because of how he deceives Bella into kissing him and also because of how he attempts to goad Edward into losing his temper. Jacob is doing what any young man would do in love: fight for what he wants and protect his friend from dying. Edward does the same thing; he just has more finesse than Jacob does. But Edward does have 80 something years on Jacob, and he has more practice at self-control and controlling his temper.

Jacob falls in love, finds out he is werewolf, and then finds out the girl he loves is in love with a vampire, his mortal enemy! I think he takes it a lot better than anybody else would. He doesn%26#039;t kill Edward, and though he is not exactly civil toward Edward, he somewhat tolerates him for Bella%26#039;s sake.

Jacob also allows Bella to be...well, Bella. He doesn%26#039;t push her to talk about her heartbreak over Edward. Although he does worry about her safety and her clumsiness, he still teaches her how to ride a motorcycle. He even keeps her warm during a freezing storm.

Although Jacob does have his faults and makes mistakes,I feel sorry for him. He deserves to have someone love him, and only him. He deserves better than to be somebody%26#039;s afterthought or substitution for the real thing.

Bring on the imprinting! Bring on real true love for Jacob!

Team Jacob 4 Eva! Long live the Quileute Pack!
